Chris Pratt goes from guarding the galaxy to defending Earth from deadly aliens in the official full-length trailer for the new sci-fi alien-invasion film “The Tomorrow War.”

The new Amazon original film casts Pratt as an ordinary high school teacher and family man who, because of his military background, becomes a recruited soldier for a futuristic war against monstrous aliens.

When time travelers from 30 years into the future suddenly arrive in the present day, they set up a massive public campaign to recruit soldiers for a catastrophic global war that has not happened yet. As a result, a massive group of civilians is drafted to fight in the “tomorrow war,” where they must travel into the future for a do-or-die mission to save the planet and humanity.

In addition to Pratt, the film also stars Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, and Keith Powers.

Chris McKay, the Emmy-winning director of “Robot Chicken” and who also helmed “The Lego Batman Movie,” makes his live-action directorial debut with this sci-fi action film, which is written by Zach Dean (Deadfall, 24 Hours to Live).

“The Tomorrow War” is set to premiere globally on July 2nd, only on Amazon Prime. Watch the full trailer, above.
