“Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt prepares for a futuristic war against deadly aliens in the new, upcoming sci-fi action film “The Tomorrow War,” for which an official teaser has been released.

Set to premiere this summer on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video, “The Tomorrow War” is set in a world where time travelers from 30 years into the future have been transported to the present day on a mission to recruit soldiers for a catastrophic global war that has not happened yet. With the fate of humanity hanging in the balance, the time travelers convince a group of civilians to travel into the future in order to fight in a deadly confrontation against monstrous aliens.

Chris Pratt plays an ordinary high school teacher and family man who volunteers to fight aliens. He is joined by a cast that includes Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, and Keith Powers.

Chris McKay, the Emmy-winning director of “Robot Chicken” and who also helmed “The Lego Batman Movie,” makes his live-action directorial debut with the upcoming action film, which is set to start streaming globally on July 2nd, only on Amazon Prime. In The TOMORROW WAR, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.
