Check out the new official trailer for the new darkly comic genre-bending AMC series “Kevin Can F–k Himself,” which hails from producer Rashida Jones and stars Emmy Award-winning “Schitt’s Creek” actress Annie Murphy.
While frequently switching between two different television styles, a classic multi-camera family sitcom, and a gritty single-camera psychological drama, somewhat in the vein of the Marvel miniseries “WandaVision,” the new AMC series casts Murphy in the lead role of Allison, an unhappy married woman who is trying to play the perfect housewife. But in reality, she is an emotionally distraught woman who wants to kill her misogynistic and abusive husband, Kevin (played here by “Broadway” actor Eric Petersen, from Shrek: The Musical).
Co-starring Brian Howe, Alex Bonifer, Jim Patton, and Mary Hollis Inboden, the show is created by television producer-writer Valerie Armstrong (Lodge 49, SEAL Team).
“Kevin Can F–k Himself” will be airing on AMC on June 20th. It will, however, premiere a week earlier on the streaming service AMC Plus on June 13th.
Emmy winner Annie Murphy puts a darkly comedic spin on the sitcom housewife. It’s not romantic — it’s aspirational… This is a story about a woman who keeps playing a perfect housewife. Then, one day she realizes what she wants: to kill her husband.
