While it’s been a little over a decade, the critically acclaimed HBO therapy series “In Treatment” has returned for its fourth season, and an official trailer has been released.
Based on the Israeli series and developed by Emmy-nominated producer-director Rodrigo Garcia (Six Feet Under, Big Love, The Affair), the HBO drama is a half-hour scripted drama that has been tailored to feel like a 30-minute long therapy session with each episode centering on a different patient.
And while the first three seasons starred Gabriel Byrne as the main psychologist who regularly had his clients (played by a variety of guest stars) come over to his home office, this new fourth season will introduce a new head therapist — this time, starring Emmy-winner Uzo Aduba, from “Orange Is the New Black” and “Mrs. America.”
Among those appearing in the new season as patients are Anthony Ramos (Hamilton), John Benjamin Hickey (The Big C), Joel Kinnaman (For All Mankind), and Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets). And continuing the tradition set in Season 2, Uzo Aduba’s character will spend several episodes having her own therapy session with her therapist friend. She is played by Liza Colon-Zayas, from DC’s “Titans” and “The Purge: Election Year.”
Consisting of 24 episodes with multiple episodes to be released every week, “In Treatment: Season 4” is premiering on May 23rd on HBO and HBO MAX.
The HBO original series is back in session. The new season of In Treatment stars Emmy winner Uzo Aduba (Mrs. America, Orange Is The New Black) as the observant, empathetic Dr. Brooke Taylor, the therapist at the center of the season.
