Check out the official trailer for Netflix’s new inspirational fishing competition drama “Blue Miracle,” starring Dennis Quaid, Jimmy Gonzales, and Fernanda Urrejola.
The film is based on the remarkable true story of Casa Hogar, a Mexican orphanage that entered the world’s biggest fishing tournament.
With the help of a washed-up boat captain (played by Quaid), a group of Mexican orphan boys tries to enter a prestigious fishing competition for the chance to win a large cash prize that would be just enough to save their orphanage.
Playing the boys are Anthony Gonzalez (Coco), Nathan Arenas (Diary of a Future President), Isaac Arellanes (Euphoria), Miguel Angel Garcia (Deputy), and Steve Gutierrez (Snowfall). Meanwhile, Jimmy Gonzales (Mayans M.C.), and Fernanda Urrejola (Narcos: Mexico) play the orphanage’s supervisors who look after the children.
“Blue Miracle” is co-written and directed by Cuban American filmmaker Julio Quintana, who previously made the Puerto Rico-set drama “The Vessel.”
The film is due to be released on Netflix beginning on May 27th.
